ACP releases updated Board Prep Curriculum for educators

The curriculum from the editors of MKSAP and Board Basics® is designed to help internal medicine residents pass the ABIM certification exam.

ACP has released a newly updated Board Prep Curriculum, a collection of online slide sets that help educators easily present lectures with trusted information developed by experts in internal medicine and its subspecialties. It provides self-paced flexibility for presenting lectures in-house or virtually and helps residency programs save hours of prep time. Detailed information about the curriculum is collected on a new webpage.

The curriculum is designed to help internal medicine residents pass the ABIM certification exam and includes 69 interactive one-hour presentations mapped to highly tested topics on the ABIM certification exam blueprint and more than 4,000 information-filled slides to minimize faculty prep time. The curriculum also includes over 400 multiple-choice questions with the following learning aids:

  • Memory Alerts. Mnemonics to trigger medical knowledge recall.
  • Don't Be Tricked. Hints to avoid question-answering pitfalls.
  • Spot the Clues. Tips on dissecting questions and identifying info essential to selecting the right answer.
  • Eliminating the Options. Advice on how to methodically eliminate distractor options.
  • Key Learning Points. Important takeaways for each question.

The content can be presented by educators at all levels, including program directors, faculty, chief residents, or specialists. Presenters can highlight important content and use the “Outline View” to facilitate navigation within each slide deck. Learners can access the slides for self-directed learning and reinforcement.

Pricing for program directors is $100 per resident. Discounted pricing may be available for programs with a high percentage of ACP Resident/Fellow membership. For more information about the updated curriculum and to inquire about a price quote, visit the webpage.
