Temporary weight management programs may have long-term cardiometabolic benefits
Trial participants who completed behavioral weight management programs had long-term reductions in systolic blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and HbA1c level relative to comparators, but weight regain reduced these differences over time, a systematic review and meta-analysis found.

Repeated tobacco screening linked to higher likelihood of smoking cessation treatment
The average adjusted predicted probability of prescription and/or referral for smoking cessation rose from 13.7% among current and former smokers screened once to 41.7% among those screened five or six times, a study of Veterans Affairs primary care clinics found.

Dapagliflozin reduced risk for hospitalization in CKD patients with or without diabetes
A post hoc analysis of an industry-funded trial found that dapagliflozin reduced overall risk of hospitalization as well as risk of hospitalization ending in death in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD).
