Obama appoints ACP Fellow to new commission

Daniel Sulmasy, FACP, has been appointed to President Obama's Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues. Dr. Sulmasy holds the Kilbride-Clinton Chair in Medicine and Ethics in the Department of Medicine and Divinity School at the University of Chicago and is associate director of the MacLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics. He is a former member of the ACP Ethics, Professionalism and Human Rights Committee.

ACP signs on to ethics code for interactions with companies

ACP signed on to the Code for Interactions with Companies, released April 21 by the Council of Medical Specialty Societies (CMSS). The code guides medical societies in developing policies and procedures that safeguard the independence and transparency of their programs, policies and advocacy positions in relationships with industry.
