Among survey respondents ages 45 years and older, the most common modifiable risk factor for Alzheimer's disease and related dementias was hypertension (49.9%), followed by not meeting guidelines for aerobic physical activity (49.7%), obesity (35.3%), and diabetes (18.6%).

Low-dose aspirin associated with 20% increase in risk of anemia among older adults

Study suggests less frequent retinopathy screening in low-risk patients with type 1 diabetes
Annual screening led to an average of 18.4 exams up to time of detection of proliferative diabetic retinopathy and clinically significant macular edema, compared to 7.7 exams with an individualized schedule, for an average reduction of 10.7 exams per patient (58% fewer).

Paternal metformin use associated with major birth defects
A prospective registry-based study in Denmark found that offspring of men who filled one or more prescriptions for metformin during the three months of developing fertilizing sperm were more likely to have a birth defect, while insulin and sulfonylureas were not associated with increased risk.
