CMS delays version 5010
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced that it will not initiate enforcement action related to noncompliance with the version 5010 electronic claims transaction standards until 90 days after the Jan. 1, 2012 compliance date. This effectively moves the enforcement date to March 31, 2012.

Version 5010 deadline approaches
As of Nov. 15, there are 46 days before the implementation of version 5010. Effective Jan. 1, 2012, physician practices will need to submit claims not only to Medicare but to all payers using version 5010 in order to be paid.

New Medicare ABN forms required Jan. 1
