Registration open for ACP webinars on diabetes, opioids, and gender equity

ACP will host a webinar “Update on Diabetes Mellitus” on Sept. 12 at 12 p.m. ET. Lillian F. Lien, MD, FACP, professor of medicine and division director of the division of endocrinology, metabolism, and diabetes in the department of medicine at the University at the Mississippi Medical Center, will discuss how to control patients' HbA1c and discuss the importance of the diabetic foot exam, while highlighting ACP resources on diabetes. This webinar will supplement a newly revised “Managing Diabetes Mellitus” module in ACP's Practice Advisor® tool and will be recorded and posted for later viewing. Clinicians are encouraged to review the Practice Advisor® module either before or after the webinar.

Another webinar, “Managing Patients Not Benefiting From (or Being Harmed by) Opioids,” will be held on Sept. 5 at 12 p.m. ET. Experts in opioid management and weaning will discuss how to assess patients on opioids for lack of benefit and implement a patient-centered opioid taper and treatment plan with alternative therapies, as well as how to assess for and treat opioid use disorder.
