Lung cancer screening led to more downstream procedures, complications in practice than in research
In clinical practice, 31.9% of patients screened for lung cancer underwent downstream imaging and 2.8% had downstream procedures. Those undergoing invasive procedures after abnormal findings had a 30.6% complication rate, compared to 17.7% in the National Lung Screening Trial.

Ubrogepant appears effective for early acute treatment of migraine
An industry-funded trial found that ubrogepant was associated with absence of moderate or severe headache within 24 hours 46% of the time versus 29% with placebo when taken during the prodrome period (nonaura symptoms preceding headache onset).

Higher aspirin dose no more effective for CV prevention in high-risk patients with diabetes
A subgroup analysis of a randomized trial found that patients with diabetes and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease had similar outcomes whether they took 81 mg or 325 mg of aspirin daily.

Dementia diagnosis associated with increased medication use
A cohort study of Medicare beneficiaries found that patients' mean number of medications increased after an incident diagnosis of dementia, as did the proportion using central nervous system-active medications, highlighting opportunities to deprescribe.
