How ACP members can support hurricane aid efforts

In the wake of the devastation from Hurricane Harvey and the ongoing threat from Hurricane Irma and other potential storms, ACP is providing information regarding how members can help with relief and aid efforts, including volunteer opportunities, ways to donate, and more.

As a resource to clinicians treating patients in the storm-impacted areas, relevant Annals of Internal Medicine content can be accessed for free online.

In reference to Hurricane Harvey specifically, the Texas Medical Association offers advice for medical professionals looking for help or to help after a disaster. More details are available at the TMA's website. The TMA's Disaster Relief Program helps pay for expenses not covered by insurance or other funding sources related to the relocation or rehabilitation of a physician's office. The fund's coverage extends to the replacement of equipment, aid of staff, rebuilding of patient records, and other costs meant to get physicians back to treating their patients in the wake of a disaster.
